Celebrations began the new year with Golden Jubilees of Religious Profession for Sister Maureen Smith and Mary Drum. They are pictured here with Sister Anneliese Reinhard (centre), who introduced them to religious life and has been friend all through these years.
25 March 125th Anniversary of Congregation
The Congregation of Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart was a founded in Hiltrup, Germany, on 25 March 1900 by Fr Hubert Linckens. Fr Linckens was a Dutch born Missionary of the Sacred Heart sent to Germany to found a congregation of sisters to be involved in mission in the South Seas. Sisters arrived in Australia in 1928 to provide medical support to missionaries from those areas who were in need of care.
